New Phone Number for Reporting Non-Emergency Fire Concerns

The Town of Greater Napanee has introduced a new non-emergency phone number for residents to report illegal campfires and other non-urgent fire concerns in municipal parks and public spaces.

Non-Emergency Fire Concern Number: 613-856-2229

Calls will be answered, or a response will be provided as soon as possible. This number should be used when there is no immediate threat to people, property, or the surrounding area.

Call 9-1-1 immediately if:

  • A fire is spreading
  • Vegetation, a vehicle, tent, or structure is burning
  • Someone is in danger
  • There is an immediate threat to public safety
For your safety, please do not approach a fire, enter an encampment, or confront individuals involved.

Open-Air Fires Prohibited on Municipal Property

The Town of Greater Napanee is prohibiting open-air fires on Town-owned municipal property to reduce the risk of fire and protect residents, property, and public spaces.

What You Need to Know:

  • No open-air fires are permitted on municipal property, including parks, public open spaces, and campfire sites.
  • Open-air burning elsewhere in Greater Napanee remains subject to the Town's Open Air Burning By-law and requires a valid burn permit, where applicable.
  • A burn permit does not authorize a fire on municipal property.
  • The prohibition includes campfires and other open-air fires used for cooking, warmth, or recreation.
Residents and community partners are encouraged to share this information and support safe, responsible compliance with the Town's fire regulations.

In an emergency, or if there is an immediate threat to life or property, call 911.
