Animal Welfare

Depending on the situation there may be different government agencies responsible for the situation at hand.  

If this is a life threatening emergency, call 911 immediately. 

PAWS - Provincial Animal Welfare Services is the Provincial Agency responsible for Animal Welfare 

Abuse and neglect of any animal is not tolerated in Ontario. If you think an animal is in distress or is being abused, call 1-833-9-ANIMAL. Animal Welfare officers will need to speak directly to you and we cannot submit a report on your behalf.  

The Lennox & Addington Branch of the Humane Society provides a number of services, including pet adoptions, rehoming, operating a neuter scooter to help facilitate low cost spay and neuters, and community outreach such as collecting and distributing pet food to local organizations, with a primary focus on humane education and advocacy. The Town of Greater Napanee does not currently have a Cat By-law. 

The Napanee Community Kitten Rescue 

The Napanee Community Kitten Rescue provides services including adoptions and feral kitten rescues. It is not a shelter.
