Municipal Election Key Dates
- Candidate Nominations open May 1, 2026 for the positions of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Ward Councillor, and School Board Trustee, as well as registrations of third party advertisers
- Deadline to update voter information online is August 12, 2026. Applications to amend the Voters’ List can continue to be made in person until the close of polls on Election Day.
- Candidate Nominations close August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
- Declaration of positions filled by Acclamation, if any, will be August 24, 2026
- Last day to register as a third party advertiser is October 23, 2026
- Election Day will be Monday, October 26, until 8:00 p.m.
- In person voter assistance available at Best & Bash Arena (16 McPherson Drive) from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- New term of Council begins on November 15, 2026
- Inaugural meeting of Council is Tuesday, November 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
