Canada Post Strike

As of September 25, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) launched a national strike. During this strike, Canada Post mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered, and no new mail will be accepted. 

The Town asks residents not to send payments or time-sensitive documents by mail and to use alternate options instead. Failure to receive bills does not excuse people from payment or from penalties for late payment. You are still responsible for paying bills and parking tickets on time.

Total Burn Ban Downgraded to Partial Burn Ban

The Greater Napanee Fire Department downgraded the Total Burn Ban to a Partial Burn Ban effective Thursday, August 28, 2025.

A Partial Burn Ban allows residents to light and maintain a campfire of no more than 60 cm in width by 60 cm in height, used for cooking, warmth, and recreational enjoyment. Open-air burning is only permitted 2 hours before sunset until 2 hours after sunrise.

Public Notice: Declaration of Surplus Lands

October 16, 2025 

At the October 14, 2025, Regular Session Meeting, Council amended the listing of surplus municipal lands to add the following property:

Details regarding the properties and the recommendation to declare them as surplus are available on the October 14 Council agendas at www.greaternapanee.civicweb.net. 

In accordance with the Town’s Sale of Land By-law No. 2025-0048, properties designated as Class I will be listed through the Town’s real estate vendor of record on a schedule determined by the Town. Properties designated as Class II may only be sold to adjacent landowners as they cannot be independently developed. Additional information about municipal land sales is available on the Town’s website at www.greaternapanee.com/build/municipal-land-sales/.
