Parking in the Town of Greater Napanee is free and is regulated by our Parking By-law  

Below are some of the highlights which you should be aware of:

  • Maximum 2-hour parking in the downtown (on street). You must stay within the lines.
  • Maximum 8-hour parking in Town parking lots unless otherwise designated.
  • Parking in an Accessible Parking Permit Space without a permit will be strictly enforced and subject to a $300 fine.
  • There is no parking in all Fire Routes.
  • From December 1st of one year to March 31st of the following year, there is no parking on any streets from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. to allow for snow plowing and removal.
  • Boat Launch Parking at the Centre Street Boat Launch reserved for those actively utilizing the boat launch. 

Parking Exemptions:

Temporary Exemption from Time Limit 
Parking By-law 2014-0032 allows the Clerk to issue temporary exemption permits to allow permit holders to park beyond the maximum time limit of 2 hours in the downtown.
  • Permits can only be issued for a maximum of 30 days
  • The cost for a permit is $15 per day

Temporary Encroachment for Recreational Vehicles 

By-law 2022-0037 amended the Parking By-law to allow for temporary encroachments into the municipal right-of-way when preparing a recreational vehicle for active use or storage.

  • Permits can only be issued for 48 hours, twice per year per property
  • Permits can only be issued between April 1 and October 31 in any year
  • The sidewalk surface must remain clear for accessible passage
  • The cost for a permit is $15 per use
