Significant Weather Event Declared - Effective December 28 at 2:00 pm

The Town of Greater Napanee has declared a Significant Weather Event effective December 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm.

After reviewing weather reports that the Town of Greater Napanee subscribes to, and observing the weather warnings issued by Environment Canada, the Town of Greater Napanee is declaring a significant weather event in the municipality, as defined within the Minimum Maintenance Standards O.Reg. 239/02.

During the significant weather event, the Town is advising motorists, pedestrians, and residents to use extra caution as the Town may not be able to meet its maintenance standards for roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks due to the potential of freezing rain and high winds followed by snow. The declaration will not change how or when the municipality performs its winter maintenance operations. However, it may take the municipality longer than usual to bring the roads and sidewalks back to a state of repair. Public safety is the municipality’s top priority.

Updates will be provided during this significant weather event on the Town's Facebook page and in the Newsroom on our website. 

2026 Christmas Tree Collection

Christmas Tree Collection will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026. Trees will be collected throughout the week, but please ensure they are placed at the curb by 7:00 am on January 5.

Please keep the following in mind when placing trees out for collection: 

  • Remove nails, metal, ornaments, tree stands, and tinsel from the trees
  • Do not wrap trees in plastic
  • Artificial trees will not be accepted
  • Residents who reside on private roads/lanes must bring trees to the main intersection for curbside collection
We will make every effort to follow the collection schedule; however, delays may occur due to weather conditions.

Trees can also be dropped off free of charge at the South Fredericksburgh Waste Disposal Site located at 651 Road 1, and the Roblin Waste Disposal Site located at 232 Roblin Road.

Holiday Hours & Service Changes

Our office hours, the hours at the Best & Bash Arena, and recycling collection will be impacted over the holiday season.

Winter Parking Restrictions

Winter parking restrictions are in effect from December 1 - March 31. During this time, parking is not permitted on any roadways or streets between 1:00 am and 7:00 am for winter maintenance operations.
