COUNTY OF LENNOX AND ADDINGTON
NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT
SCHEDULE ‘C’ MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The County of Lennox and Addington (County) is undertaking a review which will consider options that are being evaluated to replace the existing ‘couplet and offset’ intersection in the vicinity of County Road 1 (Bridge Street), Alma Road, and County Road 2 (Dundas Street East). Options to improve the intersection of County Road 5 (Palace Road) and County Road 2 (Dundas Street East) will also be included in this review. A map which includes the vicinity, intersections of study, and the study area limits is included at the second (or reverse) page of this notice.

The Project will include:

  • An update on the Traffic Study
  • Review of Design Criteria and Alternative Solutions
  • Evaluation of Alternative Solutions
  • Designs for Cross-Sections and Intersection(s)
  • Environmental Study Report

THE MUNICIPAL CLASS EA PROCESS
The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental
Assessment (October 2000, amended in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2024), which is an approved process under
the Environmental Assessment Act. The County has elected to follow the Schedule ‘C’ process of the
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED AND PROVIDE MY INPUT?
Consultation with review agencies, Indigenous Communities, and the public is an important component of
the MCEA. Two Public Information Centres (PICs) are planned during the Study period and intended to be
held in June 2026 and late Fall 2026 to obtain input from the public for consideration by the County.
Dates and venues for these PICs will be provided as part of a formal Notice of PIC. Attendees will be
invited to review the information presented and provide feedback, questions, and comments that will be
considered as the study progresses. Once the Study is complete, an Environmental Study Report will be
prepared and made available for comment.
