Temporary Road Closure - Oliver Side Road

Please be advised that Oliver Side Road will be closed to thru traffic between Bridge Street and County Road 2 during the following times:

  • Tuesday, April 7: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday, April 8: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, April 9: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Friday, April 10: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm 
This closure is necessary to facilitate tree removal work. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Total Burn Ban in Effect as of April 1, 2026

A total burn ban is in effect for Greater Napanee starting on April 1, 2026.

The Greater Napanee Fire Department implements a temporary open‑air burn ban during the high‑risk period following snowmelt and before vegetation fully greens. This is consistently the most dangerous time of year for grass and brush fires due to dry, dead vegetation, low humidity, and seasonal winds.

Under these conditions, even small or well‑intended burns can spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Spring wildfires present a significant risk to homes, farm buildings, infrastructure, agricultural lands, and natural areas, while also increasing hazards for responding firefighters.
