Notice of Single and Double Layer Surface Treatment

Westplain Road

Greenwood Paving has been contracted by the Town of Greater Napanee to apply a double layer of surface treatment (tar and chip) on Westplain Road. The surface treatment application is scheduled to begin the week of July 28th, weather permitting. 

When finished, the road first resembles a new gravel road with loose aggregate on top. Traffic speed should be reduced/controlled until the surface has had a chance to set. Please use caution to avoid scuffing and hard braking on the surface. After months of traffic and compaction, the road surface will be much smoother and will continue to get smoother as time goes on.

To facilitate the work, temporary lane closures will be required and some traffic delays can be expected.

Storey Street, Townline Road, Shorey Road, Dollar Crescent, and Switzerville Road

The surface treatment application is scheduled to begin the week of July 28th or shortly after.
