Greater Napanee Budget Update - 2026 Budget Increases Support for Fire Safety in the Community

Under the 2026 Budget, the Town is prioritizing fire safety and the safety of its firefighters.

The Fire Department has purchased a new ladder truck at a discounted price, which will be financed over the next 10 years. This will replace an aging ladder truck and allow our firefighters to respond more efficiently to fire calls.

Investments are also being made in the amount of $232,000 for protective equipment to ensure that the Town’s firefighters are prepared when responding to a variety of emergency situations.

“It’s imperative that our firefighters are equipped to respond to any emergency situation,” said Mayor Richardson. “By investing in a new ladder truck and protective equipment, we are prioritizing the safety of our staff so they can respond safely when the community needs them the most.”
