Public Notice: Updates Regarding Municipal Actions Taken in Response to KFL&A Reopening
As of Wednesday, February 10, 2021, the KFL&A Public Health region, which includes the Town of Greater Napanee, moved into the ‘Green – Prevent’ level of the Province’s COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open. Moving into this level will mean that municipal facilities will be allowed to reopen with safety protocols in place.
In the continued response to COVID-19, please be advised of the revised actions that the Town of Greater Napanee is taking for some of its municipal services, facilities and procedures to ensure the health and safety of everyone.
What's Open:
Municipal Offices Reopening on Tuesday, February 16, 2021: All municipal office buildings will reopen to the public beginning on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Masks/face coverings are mandatory upon entering any municipal office building and physical distancing of 2 metres is required.
Marriage Licences & Commissioner of Oath: Marriage licences and Commissioner of Oath service will be available beginning Tuesday, February 16, 2021 by appointment only at the Community & Corporate Services office (12 Market Square). Please call 613-354-3351 ext. 2000 to make an appointment.
Development Services: All building inspections, septic inspections and site development meetings will resume on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, with the appropriate COVID-19 safety protocols in place. If you’re requesting in-person services, please call the Infrastructure Services department at 613-354-5931 to schedule an appointment to determine an appropriate delivery method for the services that you require.
Strathcona Paper Centre Reopening on Tuesday, February 16, 2021:
The Strathcona Paper Centre (SPC) will reopen to the public beginning on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Please be advised that the following COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place, and must be followed, when entering SPC:
- Every individual planning to enter the SPC must pass the COVID-19 self-screening and sign in. There will be a Commissionaire present at the entrance during operation hours to ensure that everyone who enters performs the self-screening and sign in;
- Masks/face coverings that cover the nose, mouth and chin are mandatory and must be worn unless actively participating in a sport;
- No food or drink is allowed in the SPC, with the exception of individual water bottles for participants;
- No spectators are permitted. Each participant under 18 years of age is allowed one (1) parent/guardian to enter the facility. The parent/guardian must sign in beside the participant they represent;
- There will be no re-entry to the SPC without going through the screening process again;
- The main doors of the SPC is an entrance only. There will be two separate entrance lines created to allow for a more efficient screening process;
- The doors to the north and south of the main lobby (on far side of each ice pad) will now be the exits;
- Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 feet) must be maintained within the SPC.
Skating opportunities and ice rentals will be available at the SPC upon its reopening. Please visit the Town’s website, www.greaternapanee.com, for the schedules of skating opportunities and ice rental availability.
What's Changing:
Council & Committee Meetings: Please be advised that the Regular Meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2021 will be held virtually via Zoom beginning at 6:00 p.m.
As of March 9, 2021, Committee of Adjustment and Regular Meetings of Council will be held in person at the Selby Community Hall and will begin at 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.
All Council and Committee of Adjustment Meetings, whether held virtually or in person, will still be live streamed via the Town’s YouTube channel for the public to view.
Tenders and Request for Proposal Submissions (RFPs): All tenders and RFPs are being directed to 12 Market Square as the centralized collection point.
