Public Notice – Proposed Update of the Town of Greater Napanee Council and Committee Procedure By-law

Public notice is hereby given thatthe Council of the Town of Greater Napanee will consider a by-law to replace By-law No. 2008-58, being a by-law to govern the calling, place and proceedings of Council and committees of Council and the Conduct of its Members, at the Special Session of Council to be held in person at Town Hall (124 John Street) on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.

 

If approved, the by-law would seek to update the Town’s meeting procedures for matters including, but not limited to:

  • Updating language for clarity;
  • Electronic participation in meetings;
  • Tools to manage meeting length;
  • Public participation through the deputation process; and
  • Transparency on the use of closed session meetings.
