Lennox and Addington County General Hospital 

The hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic services supported by a well-equipped laboratory and diagnostic imaging department.

Emergency services operate 24 hours a day and see over 24,000 patients per year.

The hospital currently operates 52 beds; 24 Active Care, 2 Palliative Care, 4 Special Care and 22 Long-Term Care Convalescent Care beds which focus on rehabilitation. The outpatient clinics include; Gynecology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Respirology and Internal Medicine.  The Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre and the Chemotherapy suite are the newest additions, both which opened in 2012.

Family Physician Recruitment Program 

The Town of Greater Napanee and Hastings County have joined together to bring family physicians to our area of Southeastern Ontario.

Our Incentive Program provides $100,000 for a 5-year Return of Service commitment to practice with the Greater Napanee Family Health Team and serve residents of both municipalities.

Public Health

Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Public Health works together with our communities to promote and protect the public's health. Our commitment is to provide public health programs and services of the highest quality. We are an accredited organization of over 225 staff and 150 volunteers who deliver mandatory health programs and services set by the Province of Ontario in the Health Protection and Promotion Act. Social Assistance/Ontario Works

Helping people in need through Ontario Works, an Ontario-wide program that municipalities deliver according to provincial regulations and rules. The province shares the cost of delivery with municipalities.

Children's Services/Child Care

They recognize the fundamental importance of child care to our community and the importance of the first years of a child's life in forming a basis for a good education and social integration into our community and our society. They help by partnering with other agencies to provide quality child care; providing fee subsidies for parents in need at licensed child care centres in L&A and Prince Edward Counties; and providing support for children with special needs.

Social Housing

The Counties of Lennox & Addington and Prince Edward recognize that well-managed Social Housing (rental housing, developed and maintained by the municipality, with the assistance of provincial and federal governments, for people in need - individuals and families with low to moderate income, seniors, and people with special needs who can live, with support, in the community) is essential for a community to be socially and economically viable.

911 in Ontario is an intricate and complex system of Call Makers (you), Primary Service Answer Providers (PSAP)(initial call takers), and Regional or Central Dispatch Centers (secondary call takers).

When you make a call to 911 the PSAP will determine if you need Police, Fire, or Ambulance and reroute the call to the appropriate dispatch center for your area.

When using a hard wired telephone the operators could depend on ANI/ALI (automatic number indicator/automatic location indicator) and dispatch the proper agency without delay.

Modern technology may not always automatically download this information which may cause delays or ultimately “drop” the call. Traditionally, this system was not designed for mobile devices (cellular phones) or VoIP (voice over internet protocol) like Magic Jack or ComWave. Depending on the time of day or call volume, your cellular call may be transferred to another tower, which may or may not be in the same vicinity and could be miles away. In the event of a power failure VoIP may not work at all.

It is imperative that callers in these instances know the correct civic address, municipality, and even county for the incident or the closest intersection or cross street if reporting an accident and an alternate method of reporting an emergency.
